JESPER
Jesper Johnsson has a passion for creation and has previously worked with filmmaking and photography. But in 2021, he unexpectedly discovered his passion for ceramics. Since then, he has showcased his work in several venues across northwestern Skåne, such as Krapperup Art Hall and Höganäs Museum. Jesper has also made a Collaboration with artist Ernst Billgren, Jesper created pieces for Billgren's exhibition at the National Museum in Stockholm.
He focuses on the beauty of working with porcelain, emphasizing unglazed surfaces and soft forms in his creations. With an open-minded approach, he challenges traditional shapes and, allowing porcelain to guide him toward new possibilities.
While Alice is the creative force behind the designs of Sôft studio rugs, Jesper is the skilled artisan who brings them to life. Jesper takes pride in the fact that everything that comes from Sôft studio is handmade entirely by Jesper and Alice.
ALICE
Alice Lindblom is a creator with a deep passion for form, pattern, and color. Her work reflects a curiosity for clay in its rawest form, where the imperfect and perfect come together.
Alice has studied ceramics at Folkuniversitetet in Helsingborg and Vårdinge arts and crafts school, where she explored everything from processing her own clay to various ceramic techniques like wood-fired reduction firing and raku. Her primary methods include coiling and sculpture, and she enjoys working with stoneware clay, experimenting with patterns and textures.
Through her ceramics, Alice aims to spark curiosity and questions, which she believes are essential parts of the ceramic craft. She wants the viewers to see and feel the essence of the clay, allowing the material’s inherent character to shine through in her creations.
Alice has a love for drawing, which serves as the design inspiration for the rugs produced by Sôft studio.
